The heat or air conditioning fan never turned on right away after I turned the key in the used car that I purchased. If it were warmer, it would happen in 15 minutes or less. It's January, after all, and I was weary of being frozen at work. I attempted to remove air from the heater core, but that didn't solve the problem. In my quest for solutions on the internet, I came across a post that advised replacing the relay. At least it was worth a chance for 18 dollars.Free 2-day shipment, and the work only took 15 minutes. Get behind the fuse panel on the left foot area of the driver's side. Four blue relays can be found behind the fuse panel, which can be removed. It is the last relay, immediately below the jumble of wires. Pull it out and install the new relay. As soon as I turned on my car, the fan turned on. The mornings without a heater are no longer chilly.

My work truck, a 2005 Ford F-150, only had one fan, and it was only operating at its loudest setting, 4, which is the highest setting. I also purchased one for my coworker's pickup, a 2008 Ford F-250 Super Duty. It would be a good idea to order one of these if you own a Ford vehicle from the model years 2004 to 2008 (I'm sure there are others too). Five of the nine Ford trucks I use at work previously have this problem. This issue also affected my parents' 2008 models of the Escape and Ranger. It is easy on my truck (a 2005 F-150). On the right side of the glove box is a rubber stop; engage it to lower the glove box. A black plug has two 8mm screws on it. Pull the wire off of the plug by depressing the tab, then remove the screws. My truck had no trouble with it. Remove the old component, insert the new one, and then go backwards. Suddenly, all speeds of your blower motor are functional again. Avoid being duped into purchasing a new blower motor that you don't require by the dealership! It was the same procedure, although much more challenging, with my coworker's 2008 Ford F-250 Super Duty. There are two sets of grey connector wires on those vehicles that you must unplug in order to clear the path. You need to lay on the seat with your head on the drivers side and a longer ending socket wrench is helpful. Due to the air-box, the part is more at an angle, so it takes a little longer to complete but is still a straightforward process. Both blowers were operational in 5 minutes on my vehicle and in around 20 minutes on the Super Duty. Unfortunately, I only had a short-handled socket wrench for both; to make life easier, I advise investing in a longer-handled wrench.

For my 2011 Tacoma, this worked like a charm. I heartily suggest this product. The dealer wanted to charge me 150 plus labor to replace the Blower motor. very easy to replaceThe new harness should be cut and stripped to fit because they come with more length than you need. I removed about 11 inches from the brand-new harness, and this fit me perfectly.Step 2: Take the connector's clip off, then cut and strip each wire on the old harness one at a time.Step 3: Use a heat shrink connection to completely attach each wire as you strip and cut it independently ( I used a lighter to heat)Step 4: Replace the connector by removing the nuts and replacing it.Step 5: Test, and if all goes as planned, you now have a functional blower motor!

OEM substitute. Functions like it should. The harness plug from the old unit must be carefully removed if you are replacing this component because they are frequently fused and rusted to the old portion. Before installing the replacement unit, you should be able to remove the plug and clean it up if you are careful and proceed gently.

Review:

I mean, it's challenging to judge how amazing this item is solely from observation. However, it functions and appears to be built even better than the OEM component.Just be aware that your blower may not be having problems with this resistor. I'm learning that my issue wasn't with this or the blower motor, but rather with an underlying electrical fault that was causing it to operate irregularly.

Update: A year later, it's still really effective.
