I suppose this works! Just because it was suggested, I uninstalled the old at 190k and installed this. It's challenging to get there, but I know how. Grab a lag bolt, thread it into the old one, and then just lift it out. Although a lag bolt with sharp teeth could have been preferable to the 10mm bolt I chose. It is difficult to reach, so be sure you select one that is around 4 inches. In less than an hour, I had replaced mine.

My 2000 Silverado 1500's 5.3L V8 engine ran flawlessly. My oil gauge, which was unreliable before, now functions perfectly. Only the plastic cover on top of your motor needs to be removed if you have small hands or know someone who can assist you. There is no need to remove the fuel lines, intake, or both, as some have suggested. When using the appropriate length socket extensions and a swivel head, there are a few videos on youtube that show how to do it. To remove this, you must purchase the specialized socket because there is not enough clearance for a standard deep socket (walls are thicker). When tightening or loosening, keep it placed squarely on the block to prevent breaking the plastic electrical connector off or even stripping out the socket. As a special precaution, I recommend calling your local GM dealer to confirm whether the tiny oil filter located under the sensor is present or not. That item wasn't in my pickup. Although I think they are present in active fuel management vehicles, the only way I could confirm this (other than poking around inside) was to contact the dealer. While you're in there, you should probably replace that, however removing it requires a lot of steps (see youtube also).

This perfectly matched my 2005 Escalade AWD. Get the unique oil pressure sensor socket! The socket is easy to install and has a thin wall and wavy sides. The socket is a big assistance because the sensor is on the very back of the block, and most of the removal and installation must be done without being able to see anything. I tested everything when my oil pressure measurement abruptly dropped to zero and identified this sensor as the cause. Exact fit, excellent value, money saved, and fully resolved my issue. Highly suggested.

It took some time to install in a Silverado, but once it was, my problem was fixed. Not because it's difficult to install, but because of where it needs to go. Before installation, do your homework, especially if you don't want to remove your manifold, which some individuals choose to do even though it is not required. Without some youtube videos, unplugging the wires isn't intuitive, and the most useful one isn't among the top search results. In order to become oriented, I also suggest pushing your cell phone up against your firewall and shooting some pictures. Even after installing this one, I took a few more pictures to check its placement so I could re-attach the electrical connection.

Engine back has a sensor. To install the new one and remove the old one, a socket measuring 1 1/16" (27mm) was required. The issue was that I only got impact sockets from Harbor Freight, which were thicker than typical chromed ones. I found a single chromed socket that was the same size and would fit at Advance Auto. Simple once I get the proper socket.
