Consequently, I was suddenly forced into a pothole by a car as I was speeding along the road on my commuting bicycle. Do I really say "pothole"? In this thing, you could have concealed a little elephant. I made an attempt to jump this pit, but I struggled to get the back wheel across, and WHOOSH! With a torn tire, a busted tube, and a wheel that was already gone before I even managed to stop the bike, I am currently off the road. I decided on these tires after doing a good deal of research on Amazon, and I'm happy I did. They are an excellent weight for their price, and I found both wheels to be very true. When the roads mistreat you, the spokes may be readily trued (spoke pattern/layout) and adjusted. I've discovered that these wheels stay more true over time than my OEM wheels, necessitating fewer and milder adjustments. I use Gatorskins 700x23C, and they fit the rims perfectly. I purchased these tires mostly for commuting (30 miles round trip) over a few reasonably challenging (for a road bike) terrains, as well as for weekend training or bike club rides. I didn't want something so cumbersome that the miles and training rides would make me want for greater performance, but I also didn't want something that may fall victim to a bike-eating pothole without hurting my soul and my money. I've ridden my motorized bicycle more than 150 miles with these. During my first ride, the bolts vibrated loose and were destroyed when my sprocket tore them out of the threads. Thank goodness my dad, who works at a metal fabrication shop, restored them to like-new condition by using locktite this time! Works amazingly well and is extremely precise for a motorbike. Locktite!!! LOCKTITE!!! lOCKTITE!!!

Depending on how long the battery lasts, I discovered a design flaw: in order to access the battery compartment when it is time to change the battery, you must cut the "Zip Tie" Yes, they supply extra batteries, but surely they could have included extra zip ties as well? This MTB wheel performs admirably considering the cost.The wheel construction is respectable, and it was approximately 90% true when it arrived. It wasn't completely true, and there was one spot with a small out-of-true, but it wasn't enough to rub on the brake pads, so it was still fully useable. Given the packaging, though—see below—this was unexpected. The provided axle is of extremely poor quality, with a nut coated in plastic and a cheesy quick-release mechanism. As a result of how awful it is, I chose to reuse the 15-year-old axle from the wheel I was replacing.The item was poorly wrapped by Amazon, which is why a star was taken off. An aluminum wheel is a delicate object that must be straight and true when it is delivered. The receiving of a wheel wrapped in bubble wrap was highlighted by several reviewers. But the wheel I received was in a plastic bag inside a big package with no padding or other kind of protection at all. The fact that the wheel was in good condition when it arrived seems to be pure serendipity.Although the wheel itself is a good value, I'm criticizing Amazon for doing a poor job of packing it.

This is a fantastic, affordable package. Of course, you get what you pay for; the bag is too small, the grips are flimsy and rough, there is no display, etc., but it functions as intended. In the past 11 months, I've put at least 1500 miles on it, and it's still going strong. The throttle did eventually break, but I received a replacement straight away. Instead of riding on the side of the road where I might be doored, I can now bike in traffic. (and did prior to receiving this.) Even a trailer towing my son in it is no problem for it.EDIT: I removed a star because the axle stopped turning after about a year of use (and presumably misuse). It might have rusted. I now have to purchase a new one. Given that they are inexpensive and I've already linked the majority of the components, I'll probably just get another of these. I would prefer it if the motor wire could be cut off more easily, perhaps with a center connector as some have. (Instead, I made the decision to spend more money on what I believe would be a better kit with simpler connections and a 1200w engine.)
