I liked this birdbath very much. I've wanted one for a very long time, but I've never been able to because of the price. This is incredible, especially considering the cost. once filled with water, it takes on a metal appearance. If you're concerned about wind, it comes with posts to bury. This is quite simple to put together and, up close, appears to be made of metal. It doesn't have a cheap, plastic look. Additionally, the dish is nicely deep. To give the column some weight, I filled it with sand. Though it will probably need to be brought in on a windy day, generally it is nice and looks lovely. Would advise.

I'm so pleased with this birdbath! Expectations were always met there because shipping was Prime. Excellent value for the money, and assembling is a breeze. The birds can be pushed into position on the bath using pegs, but the remainder of the system is held together by screws. Easy as pie. Since the bird bath is made of sturdy resin but isn't particularly heavy, I was concerned that once it was filled with water, the semi-inclined location I chose for it might cause it to become unbalanced. I was happy to see that the bird bath came with three metal stakes to bury in the ground at the base. I say "thumbs up"!

We so far really appreciate this heater/de-icer for bird baths. Water is still not frozen at current low temperatures of 2F. Even the edges are free from frost because we have it plugged into a US Wire cold weather 12/3 extension wire (don't skimp on a cheap cord!). It seems like a perfect balance that the water doesn't become too hot either. Of course, even though it's supposed to have a thermostat that turns off the power when it's not needed, we unplug it on especially warm days. This device appears to function flawlessly despite our bird bath's very tiny size (holds 50oz?). So far, I'd highly suggest it.Update: I updated the review after the temperature fell even lower: 2F and no ice was visible. I dip my finger into the water during the day and it is chilly. As a result, the heater appears to strike the ideal balance between providing plenty of heat during extremely cold temperatures (thermal imagery shows a 73F heater element when the ambient temperature is 14F; the water is cold to the touch but not freezing), but then during the day the water is left cool or cold and doesn't heat up at all.

Just to be clear...The bath's total height, including the underground portion, is 26 inches. The dish/bowl itself has a diameter of 11.5 inches. It can store 1-2 inches of water (depth). The soil surface to the rim of the bowl is 21 inches above the ground.The quality is lovely and ornamental.For my hummingbirds, ideal. Big birds (bigger than, example, a sparrow or a finch) will probably ignore this. No method to install plumbing to circulate water.
