Just before picking them up, I bought a Blu-ray burner with the idea of using them as redundant backups. So far, so good: all 10 of them were able to be formatted as essentially USBs (I don't plan on giving them out or anything), and paying only approximately $1/25GB is a ridiculous bargain. Of course, the price of my Blu-ray burner offsets this, but even so, I think it's still well worth it.Of course, the main concern with these is whether they will last and retain their data in the future. I won't know for sure until it happens, but I'll update this review if things do fail much sooner than anticipated. Aside from what appears to be a small number of disk failure situations, most of the other reviews on this page appear to be rather good for the time being. As a reminder, there is only one way to find out: REDUNDANCY. Always have many backups available!

These haven't caused me any problems as of yet. Uses "PowerISO" rather well for burning. decent given the cost.UPDATE: After making a fresh system build, I bought an LG burner because the discs are compatible and my older burns are still readable with this new drive. My previous Blu-Ray burner died on me (MSI Motherboards tend to kill CPUs and other equipment, so avoid at all costs).Because my three HDDs were damaged by the MSI motherboard, I did lose a ton of data, and projects I'd been working on for more than a decade are now lost forever. Although I have older versions of my work on DVD, they are as good as lost forever. Always make a backup of your data. And whenever possible, always backup your crucial files on M-Disc. Avoid MSI motherboards as well, as this happened to me on the third motherboard. I'd like to recommend ASUS or ASRock if you're going to create a system soon.

These Blu-ray discs function admirably for their low price! Every year, I create thousands of Blu-ray discs for my company, yet I hardly ever receive coasters with these discs. Compared to so-called professional brands like JVC/TN and Microboards, less so. They print well on both of my Primera printers, however I do find the inkjet printing surface to be a little bit thinner and less opaque, thus I gave them 4 stars. On both my towers and the disc producer, these burn swiftly and reliably. I heartily suggest them.

I had a ton of data that I wanted to keep offline secure. I am aware that they are still a bit pricey in comparison to the lowering costs of hard disks, but I wanted to avoid using 40 25Gb BluRay discs in order to save time and space.I burned slowly with the free BurnAware software while using my reliable Pioneer BDR-211 drive. We don't currently own any coasters and want to get more!I'm hopeful that the various BluRay formats will at least still be valid and useable in the next 5–15 years because I still remember how awesome it was when 100Mb blue Iomega ZipDrives first appeared to replace floppy disks.:-) I predict that Sony/Archival Panasonic's Disc (AD) format will be used for the upcoming disc format transition.

Along with a single layer spindle, I purchased a spindle of them a few months ago. I had no issues with the discs with a single layer. But every time I tried to burn with these, rising bubbles would develop on the disk's backside. The first CD I burnt was legible, but after experiencing issues with the others, I realized that it also contained bubbles, albeit less in number. The following three consecutive burns I made were entirely useless, and every time it attempted to burn the second layer, bubbles appeared (note the inside of the disk is free of them). I'll post images to illustrate, along with a before-and-after shot to prove that they weren't there prior to my effort to write the disc.Even attempting to remove a disc from the middle of the spindle in case only the top ones were damaged, I was unable. I'm not sure if I got a faulty batch or if they are just incompatible with my drive, but either way, I'm quite unsatisfied. What makes me even more irritated is that I didn't discover the discs were defective until it was almost too late to return them.Update: The following morning, I made the decision to do another test because the first time I burned, I let the drive choose the speed with the expectation that it wouldn't exceed the advised maximum. It was burning at an 8x rate as opposed to a 6x rate, which I had noted. Again, I accidentally failed to specify the pace in the initial test, but I still achieved much better results with only a few bubbles around the outer rim. The other tests went off practically without a hitch. The CD was readable even though there were one or two bubbles at the edge after burning at 4x. Similar results were obtained with the 6x disc, and both discs were verified. Then I tried burning at 2x (actually specified 1x but it looked to be running at 2x throughout the burn), and although this disc took an eternity to burn, the end result was flawless and there were absolutely no bubbles to be seen on the disc.Overall, I believe that the software burning too quickly for the disc and probably the drive warming up over time were the likely causes of the initial bad results (as both DL discs that were the 1st burned of the day turned out OK even at full speed, but each subsequent disc had some degree of bubbling). I'm performing the burns with a Linux command-line tool called xorriso and an LG drive.
