For numerous years, I solely used blue/black inks, many of which were based on Iron-Gall, because I typically find blue inks to be uninteresting. I disliked how rapidly IG inks would dry out in the pens and how frequently they would need to be thoroughly flushed. I read a pen review online where the author mentioned that this ink was currently in the pen. The ink's intense saturation and the way it leapt off the pages appealed to me. I placed an order for a bottle and filled my driest pen, an MB 146 with an EF nib. Man, I was impressed. not just the color, but also the show. My formerly hard, dry starting pen suddenly became a delicious pleasure to have in my palm. Absolutely intended pun. There isn't much I can say because I'm bad at expressing colors, but think of the sapphire-blue Adriatic waves in Croatia. It is not promoted as being archival or water resistant in any way. The Permanent Black was mine. Because they bore me and are never truly black, I detest black inks. usually a deep gray that resembles diluted black. I opted to try this ink because I wanted one for common work-related tasks. I opened the bottle and immediately realized that this was something unique. The viscosity is almost gel-like and viscous compared to standard non-permanent inks. The darkness is absolute darkness. There isn't even the slightest hint of translucency. I initially inked up my Pelikan M800 and began writing with it. I was astounded by the ink's incredible flow, the line's razor-sharpness, and the matte finish it had after drying. My M800 is rather dry, but this ink made it flow over the page with ease. It reminds me of laser printer toner and has an obsidian look to it. It is 100 percent watertight. As in, water, windex, bleach, or alcohol do nothing to make the lines disappear. The "top layer" of the line, which is to say the solid particles, will wash out, leaving a completely black line in its place. Quite astounding, in fact. The "occasional writer" fountain pens that sit ink-filled in a drawer shouldn't be used with this ink. Due to the high solids content, this should be utilized in that everyday writer every-occasion pen. If let to sit for several weeks or months, it can possibly create a residue in your pen. However, I was aware of this beforehand. Additionally, given its thicker consistency, I'll give pointed-pen calligraphy a try once my nibs arrive. It currently resides in my MB 146 EF fountain pen and writes lines that are ultra-black, constant, and crisp. You can't go wrong, and as another reviewer noted, I think this should be the new benchmark by which all black inks are judged.

I adore drawing animals, buildings, and landscapes with my dip pen in this manner. I also use this to occasionally create Manga. They have better pigmentation and permanence, in my opinion, than the Japanese ink brands. Many pen inks do not cover whiteout areas very effectively and the ink will appear much lighter, but this ink does so without sacrificing the color's intensity. Since this ink dries permanently and leaves a thin film-like substance on the nibs, I strongly advise cleaning them with alcohol or soap and water after use.
