Best Camping Folding Knives in 2022

As an outdoor enthusiast, having the right camping folding knife is an essential part of your toolkit. A quality camping folding knife can come in handy for a variety of tasks, from preparing food to cutting rope. But with so many options on the market, it can be difficult to know which camping folding knife is the best for your needs.

When shopping for a camping folding knife, you’ll want to consider several factors. First, think about the type of knife you need. Do you need a knife to help with food preparation, or one that can be used for a variety of tasks? This will determine the size and shape of the knife you choose.

Next, consider the blade material. Carbon steel blades are strong and hold an edge well, but they can be prone to rusting. Stainless steel blades are more resistant to corrosion, but they may not hold an edge as well as carbon steel. Look for a blade with good edge retention, so that you don’t have to sharpen it too often.

It’s also important to choose a handle material that’s comfortable and easy to grip. Wood handles are traditional and look great, but they can be slippery when wet. Synthetic materials like G-10 are more durable and provide better grip.

Finally, consider the locking mechanism of the knife. A quality lock will keep the blade securely in place, so that it won’t accidentally close on your fingers. Make sure to test the lock before you purchase the knife, to ensure that it works smoothly.

By taking these factors into consideration, you can find the best camping folding knife for your needs. With the right knife, you’ll be prepared for anything the outdoors throws at you.

Review:

The selection of tools is excellent. The #2 Phillips screwdriver is not something I miss; nevertheless, many people do. Phillips screws can be used with the can opener's tip as long as they aren't too tight. You need actual tools if it's that tight. The corkscrew is handy for opening bottles of liquor in addition to wine. very effective at untying knots. On mine, all of the tools are simple to open and close. include the hook, which a lot of individuals appear to struggle with.Near the corkscrew, this knife has a hole for a pin (a pin is a needle, not a pen), but it does not come with a pin.The scissors are among the best multi-tool ones available, incredibly sharp, and pleasant to use.The blades had a minor burr that needed to be removed with a few passes on the stone, but they were still reasonably sharp. It didn't require much work, and it is now razor sharp, but I did take one star off for having to hon it right out of the box. Both the 90-degree and the in-line positions "lock" the flathead screwdriver/bottle opener into place. beneficial for increasing torque on tight screws. Although it's not the best bottle opener I've ever used, it's also not the worst. It does function, but not in a seamless manner. Can opener is excellent. Among the nicest I've seen for multitools and pocket knives. It took a few runs on the stone to clean off the stitching awl as well, but it is now in good shape. It's a terrific tool all around. Just not out of the box "perfect." It's an excellent size to carry in your pocket. Actually, you wouldn't want to go much bigger than this. Nothing is missing, in my opinion, and the tool set is useful. A file would be the one item I would add or include into another tool if I had to think of something that was lacking.

This tiny knife is worth its weight in silver, if not in gold. When I was on active duty for many years, I kept this knife in my daypack. It is just the correct size and contains the right number of tools. The saw, which can practically cut through anything, the scissors, which can easily clip finger and toe nails, and the best can opener in the knife industry—better than a "John Wayne"—are all particularly helpful. I started working as a contractor teaching members of the international military when I retired. I frequently go to developing nations as part of my employment. This tiny knife has come in quite handy on those outings. Opening food cans, washing fish, slicing fruit, mending broken bathroom and electrical fixtures, and more. This knife has handled every task without any care or babbling on my part. It doesn't rust if you simply rinse it off, and I've used it a lot in and around salt water. The blades are razor-sharp and simple to maintain. The Hook thing is the only tool I don't believe I've ever used. To be completely honest, I have no idea what that is and would like a Phillips head screwdriver in its place. As opposed to the vivid red you see here, my knife arrived with a more muted red color (see picture). I also didn't receive or want a pouch. The main truth is that I have used this small knife nearly every day and have taken it all across the world with wonderful success. You could probably meet 99% of your cutting requirements in a survival situation by adding a machete to this.

Like most guys, I've owned a ton of folding knives from just about every well-known brand throughout the years. After several years of ownership, it became obvious that nothing could displace the Griptilian Mini as my daily carry knife. It is quite well made, which is what you would expect from a $100-ish knife as opposed to a $30 CRKT, but it is still reasonably priced so you won't have to take out a second mortgage if you lose it, which occasionally happens with true everyday carry knives. It retains an acceptable (but not outstanding for a $400 knife) edge, fits and operates well in the hand, and best of all, fits in your pocket like a pocket knife should. Although I appreciate my Zero Tolerance 0350, it is just too large of a knife for 99% of the things I use my POCKET knife for every day. Most guys I know carry the folding version of the Crocodile Dundee knife. The Griptilian Mini works wonderfully for opening boxes, cutting cordage, and making an emergency/I'm too lazy to buy a real one impromptu screwdriver, even though it can't serve as an improvised boat anchor like the larger knives.

Review:

Regarding a marlin spike, Maxam is probably the best deal on Amazon at $6.25. It is expertly built. Fit and finish are sufficient in my opinion. I purchased this to contrast it with the First Mate Nautical Knife ($11.28) by Marbles. Maxam has a pinhead-shaped finish, whereas Marbles has a rough texture. Marbles and Maxam resemble each other remarkably. These appear to be from the same factory, if that makes sense. Both marlin spikes look to be cast, rather than machined. Shims are present at the pivot on both sides of them. Marb has brass shims, while Max has very thin stainless steel shims. Because there are two flathead screwdrivers integrated into Marbles, one of its flaws is that they cannot be used together (actually, the extension of the liner). One will need to be ground off. On Marbles, the sheep's foot blade is hollow-ground; on Maxam, it is flat-ground. Despite the somewhat soft blade steel on both, I can't complain about the pricing. Both have a sturdy build. I don't own the Kings County brand, so I can't judge how poorly these inexpensive ones are manufactured in comparison to the British ones, but I'm happy with the budget alternative. Both also include the shackle key, while the British one does not. I would get two Maxams and use them carelessly.

So I clipped my toe nails today, but not with these clippers, but with other clippers. Sadly, I had allowed my big toe nails to grow so long that they were supposedly as hard as titanium. I first removed a portion of a nail. After pressing around three times to try to remove the last nail, WHAM!!! The clippers broke; the nail did not cut! Near the base, the metal component just snapped off, rendering it worthless.I started to panic. Was I destined to have a half-cut nail for the entire day? NO. Enter the Victorinox clippers that I had, like a good Boy Scout, kept in reserve for exactly such a situation. But I questioned how these TINY tiny Victorinox clippers could ever handle the thick nail on my big toe. It didn't seem feasible at all. However, to my great amazement, the Victorinox clippers cut through that nail like butter (which it most definitely was NOT!) I mean, I hardly even needed to press firmly or exert much power. It must be related to the leverage that this neat little instrument provides.Overall, I was able to finish cutting my nails, and I'm no longer the source of conflict in my family. (Well, I might still be, but not for the reason that my toenails are only half-cut!) These Victorinox shears are awesome! I recently got two more because I enjoy them so much in case I lose the one I have! They are affordable, compact and light, STRONG, and excellent for the task at hand. I wish every tool was as fantastic! Buy these TODAY if you need an excellent set of nail clippers! Later on, you'll appreciate yourself!

Amazing knife! It is nimble and effectively compacts. It is extremely sharp and ideal to store in the garage for unforeseen requirements. I love that the clip can be attached to a pocket because I feed horses and am constantly searching for a knife to cut baling twine. I seldom ever travel without it.
