I made sure there was coverage in my location before I purchased this. I got the card, and when I activated it, it asked for my zip code whether I wanted a new phone number. When I did, it informed me that my area was not covered. However, when I looked earlier and again, it was there. To activate, I had to choose a zip code among those in my neighborhood. In my location, the card operated perfectly. I was concerned that entering a different zip code might not provide me with adequate coverage, but that was not a problem. This was an excellent purchase!For eight days, my husband and I visited Spain and Switzerland. This card was flawless throughout the entire process. We experienced zero issues and full service the entire time. The primary problem we had was texting. Unfortunately, it was for talking with people back home, but since we only used WiFi, it wasn't a big concern. Additionally, we encountered issues enrolling our cards. It worked well this time because we won't be returning soon enough to use the same card, but if you want to top off your card, you must register first; if you can't register, you can't top off. Which is clearly a setback. They do, however, provide client service. My experience wasn't very helpful, as I first encountered problems with the language barrier and then was advised to go in person to an Orange store. Service was slow and fairly frustrating both times because no one seemed to care. But I can't be mad after seeing simcards in the airport, tourist information, and stores. Since there are so many nations in Europe, and the SIM can function differently elsewhere, I also believed that more reviews could be helpful in this situation.So, after using this SIM for a week in Paris, France, here is my review.To begin with, activating the SIM is really simple. The SIM was activated two days before my flight. It took the network around five minutes to connect when I inserted the SIM, but as soon as it did, I got a confirmation text. When I landed in France, I followed the same procedure (making sure to enable data roaming in the settings), and it still worked. In essence, plug and playBalance checking is also a reasonably easy process. The app is not available in my country, thus I was unable to download it, but I was able to check it by phoning ('333') and listening to the message.Okay, so it receives an A for usability, but how well does it perform in practice? Data functioned 90% of the time, but I can't speak to calling or texting since I never used either. However, there are occasions when connections are slow and there are locations where it cuts out (including in open space).In Paris, an HSDPA (3.5G) connection is available, but the speed varies. But generally, my download and upload rates were around 2-3 Mbps.In essence, utilizing Facebook, the GPS, and playing games will all function flawlessly. I could also make data calls without too many problems (though the connection can get weak and delay responses). Video streaming will be quite challenging, though. However, as the SIM actively discourages streaming, one shouldn't take offense at this.In general, I heartily endorse this SIM. It is incredibly simple to use, provides a ton of data, and offers minutes and words in case you need them. It's a pretty darn good bargain for the $30 you're paying.
