I required this to punch down the Cat 6 cable in the network jacks and the patch panel as I added network jacks around my home. It was really effective and required little time to get used to. Considering I had to use it more than 100 times, it performed flawlessly and held up well. They are channellocks, I suppose. Does it really need further explanation? With channel lock, you really can't lose. They have been operating for a while and produce top-notch goods. I've probably tried every single brand of crimper there is, including Snapon, Klein, Irwin, Greenlee, and several unbranded ones. I always use these channellock crimpers though. I always have several pairs available. These are, in my opinion, the greatest crimpers available on the market for the money. The grips are made of a thin material, which I prefer because it allows for more finesse when stripping smaller wire, and they last for quite a while without needing to be worked out before they loosen up. And, believe it or not, they are just as taxing on the hands and wrists as crimpers with thicker grips. The head portion that is utilized to remove wire insulation is another of my favorite features of these channellocks, which most other manufacturers do not include. if you continue to use crimpers of a different brand. You are severely lacking.

Excellent crimpers.The "ratcheting locking mechanism" is the only issue. We ordered a lot of these, however we were unable to figure out how to make any of them lock shut. contacted TRENDnet's help line. They could not find out how to get them to lock closed either after spending 40 minutes on the phone with them! Finally deciding that they must be flawed, the TRENDnet representative on the phone instructed us to return them. We had bought a large number of them and didn't think that they were all flawed. There, we didn't give up.We figured it out after finally disassembling a pair. A small knob with the word "Release" painted next to it is present. Ignore this knob entirely. It serves no purpose and is unnecessary. You must slightly close the crimpers until you hear two or three clicks in order to engage the "close locking" mechanism. Then they will remain shut. DO NOT completely close them because they will instantly reopen. Ignore the RELEASE knob once more. It has no effect.

Using the 35mm die, I bought this to crimp some 1 Ga battery cables, and it worked flawlessly.Although the product's description states that it can crimp up to 1 Ga, I believe the 50mm die will work just fine with 1/0.The following is what I did to test the crimp: Due to the somewhat thin die, I created two parallel crimps on the termination. I divided the terminal in half to check the strands' compaction, and the interior appeared to be nicely sealed.After that, cut the cable's termination off, leaving about 1/2" of wire so you can try to pull strands out of the terminal. I tried pulling individual strands out of the middle of the bundle of strands after peeling away the bundle of strands to get to the middle strands since I was unable to get any strands to come out of the terminal. Before coming loose from the bundle, the threads snapped.I am therefore delighted with the crimps that this item creates.

I bought these to clip onto the ends of battery cables. Prior to this, we would solder them on, and we use them on high-speed electric go karts. These would pull out because of the heat generated by the solder failing. The cables had to be taken out of the kart in order to use the hammer style crimper, which worked nicely anyway. We discovered this, and to be completely honest, I assumed that given the cost, the crimpers wouldn't be that durable. I believed they would be okay because we just use them occasionally each week. The weight and quality of this were a pleasant surprise. After using for a few months, I'll update.

This gauge is currently my favorite among the three that I own since I really like it. It's excellent how you rotated it up to the spark plug reading. There is no need to speculate as to where it terminates. The fact that the readings are continuous rather than just ".032" then ".035" and so on, is another issue. Excellent in my book. I've also utilized the gap opener hole, which I found to be more controllable than other types of gap tools and made it simpler to gauge the force and distance you're applying to it.

When I first started tearing down upstairs walls, I purchased the Crimper315 kit with the hopes that one day the cables I was running through the attic and through the walls would be linked to something. So, a few years later, I'm dusting off and bringing out this kit in order to re-educate myself on why in the world I purchased it and how to connect an ethernet network. The fact that this package contained almost all the tools I would require greatly eased me.The testing was quite simple to use. It enabled me to verify the validity of the connections I was attaching to the two ends of cat5e cables. Now that I had finally punched the cables into jacks and a patch panel, I was able to use the remote to deploy a few small test cables and check the cables I had dropped earlier. This gave me the peace of mind to proceed with taping everything up in the basement and to forgo having to return to the attic insulation to replace anything. Thus, the tester was very large for me. ~ (Note that it does require a not-provided 5-volt battery) (Note that it does require a not-provided 5-volt battery.)It turned out that the crimping tool was only a small issue. I learned that very vigorous squeezing could damage the connector. In addition, I noticed that when I turned the connectors over to face me, at least one of the wires constantly appeared to be crimped a little bit higher than the others. Nevertheless, the tester claimed they would function, and the network I'm currently using attests to that.I only used the cutter portion of the other tool to remove the sheathing because I had already purchased a separate punching tool (I didn't want to take a chance on that part). The inside wiring would be damaged by more than, say, one and a half cautious spins because it turned out to be sharper than I had anticipated. Yow.In conclusion, you have almost all the tools you need to build a low-cost home network. When I threw out the box, I had no idea how any of this functioned, and I don't anticipate using it extensively in the future other from creating some custom cable lengths to connect equipment.
