EDIT: I removed one point because, after looking at this color in various lighting conditions, I decided that Ash Brown is still too warm for me. Although I would never describe it as "ash," it is still a good brown that would suit many people who are looking for just a little of warmth. The coating is nicely dry and adheres well. The brush is not necessary because it makes no difference in how this substance is applied.I adore this hue (Ash Brown). Black eyebrow pencils always look too harsh and dark, even though my natural brows are quite near to being black. For brunettes, most brow pencils are too warm. It doesn't stand out because it is a lovely, subdued brown without much warmth at all. Really easy to apply and very natural. also keeps its position. Once, I unintentionally purchased this item in the shade "Taupe." The color was lovely, but I found it to be very light. I nevertheless used it all up. Try the taupe if you have light brown or dark blonde hair.

I adore this pencil because it works flawlessly, draws crisp, even lines, and is excellent for filling in as well. I'm a big fan of well-groomed brows! The little brush and fine tip make for ideal preparation and outlining. Don't think twice; it's wonderful. The soft brown color has a reddish tint, which is the only thing I have to complain about. The dark brown is far too intense.

Given that I am a bottle blonde and have medium brown brows, I was genuinely hesitant to select the Blonde shade. I like this even more than the YBF brow pencil, which is carried on HSN and formerly QVC, and which I've used for years.Since this is an extremely fine pencil, you can't twist the lead out very far at once without breaking the tip. I twist it back into the pencil after extending it by only a fraction of an inch at a time.It lasts all day long! And it appears really organic.The YBF pencil (top line) in my picture is supposed to be a neutral taupe color. I believe the YBF pencil appears even more taupe than the Maybelline Blonde shade (bottom line). Additionally, as you can see with the YBF pencil, the Maybelline has almost no "flaking."

If you apply it right, this retains brows in place without being heavy, although I have seen reports about flaking. No flaking; if there is flaking, the product is being used improperly. One quick brush across the brows will do the trick. I don't typically purchase inexpensive makeup, but this has really pleased me. I'm wondering why I've been spending so much money on things that might be just as effective as generic ones.

I must say that I LOVE LOVE LOVE this product.I still adore it even though it wasn't as black or brown as it claimed to be.Those who claim that it comes over right away are mistaken. You need to wait one or two minutes for it to dry. I mean, it IS a liquid.Reasons for my rating of 4/5:1) The color is not dark enough to be a black/brown shade. It resembles a light brown more. The night before I received this product, I had coloured my hair black, thus it did not match at all! Fortunately, I discovered a way to make it somewhat darker (other than applying it repeatedly as each layer dried). I used Anastasia dip brow in granite (black) and softly patted it with a small brow brush to slightly deepen the colour.2) extremely challenging to apply if you lack skill or the ability to draw a straight line (such as when using winged eyeliner). My learning curve was roughly three days long.3) The brush that comes with it is awful, as we can all agree! Which is why I apply this product with a much smaller eyebrow brush.An Anastasia brow brush is what I use.As you can see from the photos I took, the brow brush I use creates incredibly fine lines. Perfect for maintaining a beautiful shape and somewhat natural-looking brows.However, as you can plainly see, the product is a light brown, while my eyebrows are black.Other than that, this stuff is a godsend and miraculously lasts for 3 days! It's fantastic.It is simple to take off. Simply apply some baby oil and rinse with soap and water to get rid of it.Anything-proof, sweat-proof, sleep-proof, and water-proof!I urge everyone to do this!On a related topic, it won't last as long as it should if there is no hair.
