These dryer balls, according to several reviews, reduce drying time while softening clothes and making it easier discarding laundry during the drying cycle. My experience suggests that the drying time might be slightly sped up, but I don't anticipate a decrease in my electricity costs. Additionally, I wouldn't say that these dryer balls greatly soften the garments on their own. But I'm glad I'm not using fabric softener on my clothes or on my washing machine. White vinegar works as a natural fabric softener and rinse agent, in my experience. So sure, the vinegar in the fabric softener dispenser and the dryer balls work well together. The money I save by not purchasing fabric softener makes me happy as well.
