Put the roller under your thighs, sit on your butt, lift your feet off the floor, push up with your arms, and rock back and forth on the palms of your hands while allowing the roller to rock back and forth on the backs of your thighs to stretch the muscles. I work on the front of my thighs in the second section. To allow the roller to move up and down your thighs once more, lie on your stomach, place the roller under your thighs, sit up with your front body supported by your elbows and palms of your hands, lift your feet off the floor, and crawl back and forth while pressing your thighs down on the roller with the weight of your body. To exercise every thigh muscle, point your toes upward, inward, and outward. I just wanted to clarify for the few folks who posted photographs of the "bruising" that it is actually petechiae and not a bruise. And it's a key factor in why I purchased this roller. This specific roller does a terrific job of stimulating and breaking up scar tissue and myofascia in addition to rolling the deeper, more tense muscle tissues out. Because I had previously purchased a smooth roller from somewhere else, I was a little apprehensive to purchase this one. But I'm happy I took the risk. My back is finally hurting from spending the majority of the day at my desk due to my job. So I initially tested the roller on my back to see whether it would be of any use.
