Without any adjustments, the GE PGS968SEP1SS Profile range operated properly; the plug is the right one. We'll see how long it lasts, but note that it doesn't have the same strong insulation on the wires as the original part (see photo of old on left, new on right). It costs less than a quarter as much as a GE component.The connector in the GE PGS968SEP1SS is far back, on the other side of a hole behind insulation. In order to replace the old igniter, you just need to remove the screws, pull as much wire out as you can, then fish your finger in and feel down the wire until you reach the connector. Although it is a nuisance, if you move the wire a little, you should be able to pull it farther out to reveal the connector. Before putting everything back together, make sure you put this connector back through that hole. Although it is a relatively simple task, you might require replacement igniter screws if your original ones are stripped off (fairly common).

With just one little wrench and nut driver, this device installed in under five minutes and has thus far performed well. I spent more time learning about the model and part number (and what a hot surface igniter is) than actually replacing it.Several words of advice:1. Stop immediately if you ever smell gas. The ignitor might not be the issue (or it might be the least of your issues)!2. While you're working, lower the thermostat and shut off the furnace.3. Another great idea is to turn off the gas valve within the appliance (remember to turn it back on after you're finished).4. AVOID using your fingers to touch the surface of the igniter (something about the oil from your skin; consider a halogen bulb)These objects come in a variety of shapes and sizes. To make sure you get the correct item, take ten minutes and get the model number off your furnace.You can absolutely do this if I can do it.

The high limit switch that failed to function was the actual cause of my Bryant 311AAV Plus 80 gas heater issue, but I also changed the ignitor and the flame sensor. It seems that the flame sensor and ignitor should be changed every 4 to 5 years regardless, yet mine have been 11 years. It was taking a long time to heat, which is frequently caused by a damaged or clogged flame sensor that incorrectly believes the flame is out and instructs the heater to switch off the gas for safety. Right now, everything is operating smoothly. These are quite affordable—much less expensive than the ignitor—but I'll continue to use the original in the event of complete failure in the future.

Excellent deal on this. was at least three times cheaper than the price I was given by a local appliance parts dealer. When I got it, I didn't really have high expectations beyond a generic item, so I was taken aback when it came in an official Electrolux packaging. And I'll add another thing. I had to change this oven component for the second time. Knowing that the component was only secured with two screws during the previous installation (which this part indicated it required in the pictures). Sure enough, the one that was already installed (previously bought from the same vendor who asked around three times as much for this one as this one did) had a bracket on it that could handle four screws rather than two. I don't remember what packaging the first one I bought was in, but I have a suspicion that they simply sold me a suitable part rather than the one it actually called for. In any case, my oven is working again!

Once you locate the YouTube videos, installation is simple. They are numerous. This component's screw is located on the underside. It was simple once I got beyond my misunderstanding, which took approximately 45 seconds. I spent two hours watching videos because I learn slowly. 30 minutes of excessive analysis I wasted ten minutes trying to figure out how to take off the main door, so it's a good thing the instruction book was still there. I'll raise and pull my Carrier system a little. The door has no screws.Disassembling takes five minutes. It takes 5 minutes to swap out the old one. Avoid touching the metal component at all costs. Moving wires takes five minutes. started, and the igniter whooshed and blazed red, red, red after 45 seconds. At last, heat. I'm glad I bought two because I have two furnaces. The first one lasted 14 years. All that needed to be taken apart was the front door and igniter. Next time, the task would take ten minutes. also cleansed the hands. saved likely $200. The first one arrived, was set up, and operated. Later that day, it shorted out, tripped the house's breaker, and blew the circuit board fuse. (The fuse's glass casing actually broke!) There must have been a flaw in the Element. A bit of the element had melted. For those who accidentally cross automobile battery terminals with a wrench, like that! I ordered 15A 5x20mm fuses after having a replacement delivered to me because the hardware store wouldn't stock them. Everything was installed, and for the past month everything has been running smoothly.
