Although slightly different from the component on my old Genie screw drive door opener, this one functions just fine. It was more difficult to disassemble everything to remove the old part and determine if it was the defective part than to reassemble it with the new part once I received it.I probably used 4-5 pairs of disposable rubber gloves to keep my hands clean because the old portion was filthy and greasy.I also used one cotter pin, a little amount of lithium grease, and some silicone spray lubricant from my garage's supplies on the door hardware's wheels, springs, and coils. Paper towels, rags, and some Simple Green Use the old unit's pull chain again. This portion cost $16 or $17 in total, making it a terrific money-saving DIY project.

The only thing I don't like about them is when children approach them believing they are real and try to hang on to the handles, which of course just fall off. Still, I have to admit that it's hilarious and that it teaches children to stop playing with things they shouldn't because they mistakenly believe they break them. Besides that, you wouldn't even notice that they are magnetic. They remain in place, are simple to remove for cleaning the doors, and then quickly replaced. Despite the intense downpour, they remained on. Now when it is -20 outside, sill is still on without any issues. I have two sets with double doors and one with a single door, they look great.

On my garage door, they function reasonably well. Although I don't believe my door's squares are in the ideal spot for these, they still function and give our door a lot of personality. I adore them. It was easy to install them. Because one item was missing from the order and Amazon offered to replace the entire shipment or give me a modest credit, I almost gave it four stars. I chose a little refund because I had already installed all but one of them. I got one after getting in touch with the company directly. In the interim, I made do with a cheap magnetic sheet from Michaels. My doors look so much nicer when I added the magnetic garage hardware! My husband claims that the day I placed these, he pulled over and took a double take. He believed he may have turned into the wrong driveway while concetrating on other things! It is difficult to tell they are fake until you look extremely closely.
