used on three of the 5-gallon plastic gas cans with "no vent." They work excellent with a little work, but order more than you need in case you, like I did, destroy a few. I had to order the bit from Amazon because local hardware stores don't carry 31/64th bits. After emptying the cans and letting them dry for a few days, I drilled the 31/64th holes, scraped down the ridge where I planned to put the vents, cleaned the areas, and then installed the vents. To attach the vents, I utilized a unique adhesive made specifically for plastics called super clue type. That was very effective, and the vents are very safe and leak-proof. A suitable-sized socket is placed over the top of the vent plug, and it is then inserted by centering the vent on the predrilled hole and tapping it with a rubber mallet. That appeared to function fine. Now, gas streams considerably more quickly and easily. I strongly advise installing extensions for your spouts. I bought some clamps and plastic tubing at the neighborhood hardware store. It works perfectly. For the extensions, a length of around 9" is advised.

Simple to use, still requires two hands, but offers excellent filling process control. You don't even need to tip the can back down once you've finished filling whatever it is; simply let off of the button to halt the flow. precise control, no leaking, and a fair amount of user-friendliness. Some people criticize the button, however it simply has to be pushed forward and then downward to function as intended.

This is the third replacement spout I've bought because the first two, despite several attempts to tighten or adjust the spout, leaked violently and splashed gas everywhere. This one works beautifully with no leaks at all after a small modification to assist the gasket seat itself. There was only one issue: the offered push-in vent cap did not fit my can and could not be used. However, I was able to reuse the previous one, so it was no major deal for me. However, the contained product material indicated that the proper screw-on vent cap could be purchased separately, which led me to wonder why both styles weren't included in the package. One might argue that this is pricey at $13.95 for a few pieces of blow-molded PVC, but since it functions, I think the cost is justified.
