Based only on how pleased I had been with my last Brother printer, I decided to purchase this product. I was exclusively printing text documents on a monochrome Brother laser printer and utilizing an HP ink jet multifunction printer for copying, faxing, and scanning. The HP was killing me and the Brother just kept printing and printing without the need to regularly replace the toner, and I finally had enough of being ripped off for ink jet cartridges. I must have done this at least thrice before ultimately replacing the toner, which translated to months of printing on both sides. When the Brother's toner light would finally turn on, I would simply reset it and it was set for another few months. Therefore, when the HP ran out of ink once more, I chose to purchase a single all-in-one to replace the other two, and there was no doubt in my mind as to which brand I would choose. Since this is a brand-new model and there are no reviews, I checked the specifications on the Brother website and discovered that everything I was getting from the two individual units was included in this setup, with the exception of color, which I barely used. It prints up to 38 pages per minute (one page every one to two seconds! ), which is much faster than comparable inkjet printers and has a much cheaper cost per page. The printer is suitable for both the tiniest business or home office and the largest organization because it has every network configuration choice imaginable. The Web server that comes pre-installed with the printer and is used to configure its settings has been superbly secured by HP. This compact printer can fit in small locations and delivers results comparable to those of considerably more expensive, larger, and more powerful competitors' printers.

We purchased this printer to replace an Epson inkjet printer that had disappointingly short ink cartridge lives and poor print quality. I wanted to update to a laser printer while keeping the copy and scan features from our previous Epson. Given that we use it in a home office and print fewer than 1000 pages annually, I also wanted something compact that wouldn't be a hassle to use. This was a problem with the Epson because there would be months when we seldom printed and the ink would dry out.I was about to purchase another HP model, which turned out to be the printer's model from last year, but I noticed the new model in a store and liked that it had a larger sheet tray and faster print speeds of 22 ppm instead of the previous model's 19 ppm. It's not a cheap printer at $429, but it performs all the tasks we needed it to.Out of the box setup was simple; I simply put it in and it immediately detected my household WiFi. I didn't need to install any drivers or software in order to print directly from my Mac and iPhone. The toner cartridges came pre-installed and included the three beginning color cartridges in addition to a black toner cartridge with a normal yield that should last us 12 to 18 months.Printing was quick, and the monochrome quality was on par with my office's laser printers. My Mac instantly detected the scanner and it operated without a hitch. The sheet feeder worked quickly and flawlessly to scan and copy. Despite being small, the touch screen is nonetheless useful. I didn't like the little screen because I rarely used the touch screen unless I was copying or scanning to a USB drive, which I haven't done yet. Additionally, this printer is compatible with web services, so you may print to an email address or through Facebook Messenger. However, I believe I will ultimately disable that feature for security reasons.Overall, this printer was of acceptable quality for a tiny home office or business.
