We bought this to help with the algae bloom in our miniature eco-system aquarium (no filter, just a pump). Our enormous outside tank's surface was immediately covered, and as hoped, the algae bloom has subsided. Although it isn't a miracle treatment, it does work! (We will next add daphnia and tiny shrimp.)Regarding their size: Yes, they are TINY and only a few have gone through the pump, but they haven't posed any issues in that area and, as I mentioned, have absolutely thrived (multiplying exactly as quickly you would expect a weed to do). But we *expected* them to be small because we had done our homework beforehand. The plant is exactly that. Their roots linger below the surface of the water like tiny green hairs, while their tiny leaves float on top of the water. They are actually rather lovely in a delicate manner.

Please allow 2-3 months for babies to emerge; tops may turn brown as the root draws energy from them to aid in the birth of children.

Live Lemna Minor (Duckweed) Plants#

For my fish, duckweed has been a superfood. I cultivate it in gallons and use it as feed.

Because it can survive extended periods of drought by folding up its fronds and seeming dried, gray-brown, and dead, the resurrection fern earned its name. These plants are thought to be able to survive without water for up to 100 years before reviving after just one soak.

Amazing plant, almost miraculous. It will initially appear dry and dead, but if you soak it in water, you'll see it bloom into green, almost moss-like blooms, giving rise to the alternate name Spike Moss.

No planting or soil is required. Even without soil underneath it, this plant may survive for a long time in a dry ball state. After that, put it in a basin of water, and soon you'll have a blossoming plant! Excellent for dry areas and desert gardens.
