Best Power Pole Saws in 2022

Finding the best power pole saw can be a daunting task. With so many models on the market, it can be difficult to know which one is best for your needs. Whether you're looking for a saw that can tackle small jobs around the home or professional projects, there are a few key factors to consider in order to make the right choice.

First, consider what type of power source you need. Many power pole saws are electric, but some models are also powered by gasoline or battery. Electric saws are often the most affordable option, but they may not have the power to handle larger jobs. Gasoline and battery-powered saws offer more power and versatility but may be more expensive.

Next, consider the size of the saw. Most power pole saws are designed for cutting small branches. If you're looking for something to handle larger branches, you'll need a saw with a longer reach. Also, make sure the saw you choose has a comfortable grip and is easy to maneuver.

You should also consider the features of the saw. Some power pole saws come with additional features like adjustable speed settings, adjustable cutting angles, and automatic chain lubrication. These features can help you make precise cuts and reduce fatigue when using the saw.

Finally, consider the price of the saw. While you can find power pole saws that are quite affordable, be sure to read customer reviews to make sure it's a quality product. Also, consider whether you need additional accessories, such as extra blades or an extension pole, which may add to the cost.

By taking the time to consider your needs and the features of various power pole saws, you'll be able to find the best one for your project. With the right saw in hand, you'll be ready to tackle all your outdoor projects with ease.

Review:

I needed to remove 4 trees that were all 40 feet or taller. To top off the trees and safely lower them to the ground, I rented a 35' lift from Home Depot. I wanted to utilize my 16-volt Stihl gas engine "Use the Sun Joe to chop the smaller limbs once they were on the ground after using the saw to handle the bulk of the cutting. I switched to using the Sun Joe since I couldn't keep the Stihl going ( since I had already rented the lift for the day). The saw performed admirably. I used the Sun Joe to cut down all 4 trees, save for the final 10–12' trunk. These trees have between 16 and 20 leaves "trunks near the ground. Around 8:30 am, I began chopping, and I didn't finish until after 5:00. The blade was sharp and kept sharp all day (like with any chain saw, don't let it strike the ground while spinning; it'll dull the blade in a second). When riding the lift, the pole extension was quite helpful. Despite the chain oil reservoir being somewhat tiny, I didn't need to refill it as frequently as I had anticipated. The process of fastening and unfastening the saw from the pole is quite simple. I firmly advise using this saw.

Review:

I've used a Stihl for years, but for cutting I needed a lightweight polesaw. This saw is top-notch.PROS — It is portable (NOT cheap-feeling)—Easy to use —Easy to adjust —Easy to assembleIn case someone is unsure of how to install it, there are around a dozen notes about chain direction. In reality, it already has the chain zip-tied to the bar in the proper position.—Retraction and extension are quick and easy. All you need to do is give the locking collar a quick, light spin.—The extension pole is rigid and stable when extended to its maximum length.—The cable lock is a wonderful convenience. Use it because if you don't you'll have to disconnect it while using it — The chain is well-cutting and sharp.Reminder: Undercut branches to keep them from binding, and if a branch drags the saw with it, let it go and gently assist it downward rather than yanking it.—Nothing extra is used; just standard bar and chain oil. Watch the oil level; it uses it up quite quickly, which is fine.—It hangs in the garage with the bar down and is full of oil. Other reviews referenced leaks, which I have not experienced. Make sure the oil-cap string does not become caught in the threads as this could lead to issues.—Much like a standard chainsaw, chain adjustment is simple. After the first couple of cuts, it will LOTS of loosen.CONS —The trigger lock requires some getting used to, and I don't like that configuration, but it works —If the handle had a slot or something else for the adjustment wrench, that would be excellent.I'm quite pleased with the saw overall. The only thing that isn't known is how long it will last, but if it's registered, I believe there is a two year warranty.

On February 13, 2017, I had the opportunity to try this out.The effectiveness of it surprised me positively. It enabled me to rapidly and effectively cut limbs with diameters ranging from 1/2" to 6" from the security of the ground.I didn't fully extend the shaft, but I was still able to reach limbs that were 12 to 15 feet high.A respectable hour of on and off trimming of limbs with the aforementioned dimensions would be expected from the battery life. After more use, I've observed a few drawbacks: First, the battery is quite difficult to remove from the tool and not all that simple to remove from the charger, as other users have noted.Additionally, after wearing this for a time, your thumb will be sore. The safety that needs to be activated before pulling the trigger to start the saw is recessed and difficult to squeeze, and after using the tool for a while, your thumb starts to feel sore.Overall, though, it gets five stars and is a keeper.I'm not that lucky; I didn't get any deals, gifts, or other benefits in exchange for my review.I paid the full money, and it was absolutely worth it!

STRONG: 8.0-amp motor slices through branches up to 7.5 inches thick#

Review:

works flawlessly. The bar/chain combination is simple to install and is zip-tied together to prevent incorrect or upside-down installation. comes with a simple multitool that may be used to hold the bar in place and adjust the chain tension. After putting in the provided oil, I was ready to go. This saw is strong and powerful; it effortlessly chopped a branch that was 10" in diameter without any problems. I believe the 7.5" mark refers to cutting something vertically, where it would pinch the saw as it cut. The cut naturally expands up and the saw does not pinch while cutting a horizontal branch from the top.The pole is sturdy even when completely extended. It is quite practical to be able to combine the saw and handle so you can just use a small electric chainsaw when you don't need to reach up in the air.

Review:

The Sun Joe is almost completely assembled, so you can practically use it right out of the box, however for some reason I wasn't anticipating a 6 foot box to arrive on my porch. You just need to attach the chainsaw plate; that's it. When finished, remember to have some chainsaw oil and a funnel because the unit will have arrived dry. Even though it seems like you have to read through a physics manual, the instructions are straightforward and available in a variety of languages. For the price, this is a well-made gadget that appears to be able to withstand all the abuse you'll be using it for. It's not quite a heavyweight saw, but when fully extended, the weight balance greatly favors one arm, so be prepared to use some effort when holding it. Remember that this is not a workhorse to use for prolonged durations if that's what you're looking for, but considering that it cuts like butter, jobs should be short work. It can get a little warm after using this for a while. The oil cap is this device's lone weak spot. There is nothing safer than a chainsaw handle smeared in oil, and after the first use, I left it standing in a corner and the entire tank had seeped down the unit! It can drip and needs be emptied after each use, according to the manual, which seems like a waste. It's a very major shortcoming, and I'm not sure why a gasket isn't installed. This item's pricing on Amazon is a little odd; when I added it to my cart, it was $57, but when I went to check out a couple of hours later, it had gone up to $67. Even so, I placed my transaction, and when I went back a few hours later, the price was returned to $57. To receive the cheaper price, I had to cancel and then reorder.

Review:

With this chainsaw, I'm quite pleased. It was on sale back in November, so I bought it then, but I didn't use it until this last weekend. It quickly dismantled some very massive branches (8-10" diameter). This saw appears to be of a good quality for occasional household use and should last me for many years. You should probably spend more money on a higher-quality tool if you're a professional or have a large property with lots of trees. Simple installation of the bar and chain was all that was required for assembly. Just be sure to position the chain correctly to ensure good cutting performance. Along with the necessary equipment for assembly, a set of safety glasses, and wall mount brackets are also provided (nice touch). Bar/chain oil is the only thing that is missing, so be sure to get some and never use the saw without it.The previous time I cut down a tree, I did so with a gas chainsaw and ladders (it was a hard task), but I discovered that using this telescoping pole chain saw from the ground was faster and safer. For the typical homeowner with a few trees to trim each season, I heartily suggest it.

I had my doubts about purchasing a 40v setup. was originally intending to get the Worx 80v system. This system ended up being less expensive than the 80v setup with a pole saw and trimmer. I'm very happy I bought it. Greenworks is a reputable company, and the 40v system performs admirably. Just wished the carry bag was included rather than having to buy it separately. But on Amazon, it was only 14.00. This system is amazing. The battery-operated weed eater needs to be purchased next. I will then have everything. added two batteries. This is highly recommended. I used it to mow the grass outside and around my hunting grounds. makes things seem simple.

For me, this saw did the trick. As soon as I got it, I put it to the test, and it didn't let me down. I lost track of how many other branches I cut, but there were a lot. I removed branches up to four inches in diameter. The chain stayed crisp and ready to cut, and I never lost power. Although this saw is not as robust as the heavier pole saws with electric and gasoline motors, it nevertheless performs admirably. I bought the battery-powered version because I don't like having to slog through a hundred feet of chord to remove one branch that I find objectionable. The electric pole saw would be used if I had a lot of branches to cut down, but for my sporadic needs, this pole saw should be adequate. I've just placed an order for a backup chain.

Review:

I put this small saw to the test, and it performed admirably. I used it in a single day to cut down a troublesome birch tree, trim some pine trees, remove some overgrown evergreen shrubs, and finish with some tough oak and maple branches.Chain oil is required for the saw but is not supplied. Before usage, the chain needs to be tightened; all you have to do is turn the bright orange knob. The chain did come off once, but that was due to a piece of hard, damp oak, and it was easily fixed by releasing the tension, reinstalling the chain, and then retightening. The instruction manual could have been clearer. The book was a little bit difficult, but the saw is really simple to use and understand.Yes, the poll has a top-heavy skew. Anyone who is familiar with physics should be aware of how heavy an 8 pound saw will be on an 8 foot pole. However, the weight of the saw itself can force it through the limbs. Simply be mindful of your limitations and take care not to let the saw fall when it cuts through.I had intermittent problems with the poll all day. It has already repaid for itself.

My mind was blown by this. Heavy-duty plastic makes up the most of it, and I was really dubious. I'm relieved that I did obtain it.The chainsaw: Let me start by noting that I don't like using chainsaws. However, the device functions. I've used it to bring down trees with a diameter of 1'. It is incredibly portable and light. Gas is significantly more complicated than battery. Press the button to turn it on; let go to turn it off. It ends there. I first believed I would need to get a 24-inch behemoth for $600, but nope! I'm just trying to maintain my yard in order; those are for the professionals that do it for a livelihood. Not very long-lasting is the battery. I purchased a 4 so I could switch between them. Overall, this is the more cost-effective choice because I ultimately decided to purchase the Worx weedwhacker and hedge trimmers without the batteries based on the chainsaw's quality.Chainsaw on Pole: Your knowledge of medieval jousting may come in help. It's simple to disassemble and reassemble, but anyone around should stay a long, long way away. Lifting is undoubtedly required to get the object onto the branch, and if you fail, hoisting it back up is hard. However, as stated in other reviews, the weight of the saw actually does the work. Just press the button; you don't need to press down. Overall, it's safer than climbing a ladder with a saw, but you will need some back and upper body strength.Overall, I think it will endure because it works well and I don't use it every day. extremely helpful
