My go-to thread for piecing, machine quilting, and binding is Aurifil Mako 50. The color 2600 (Dove) is a fantastic substitute for white as a neutral. It's a light gray, almost like silver. It is linty, like all cotton threads, but it is really simple to remove from your machine by picking the lint off between routine maintenance cleaning at home. I frequently purchase items from local stores, but occasionally they simply don't have the wonderful price or color range that you can find online. Regular internet shoppers should consider purchasing Aurifil's color card so they will know exactly what to expect when choosing a color.

I'm pleased I was able to get over the price because this thread is excellent. Bobbin thread lasts significantly longer, feels lovely to the touch, lays flatter, and makes achieving 1/4" seams simple. It also builds up very little lint. I had to constantly clean the feed dogs and bobbin area after replacing my Essential threads since they had way too much lint.I now love Aurifil and am really satisfied with the product. Even though I have been sewing for a lot longer than I like to admit, this thread is excellent.

I adore neutral hues. When quilting, I only use Aurifil thread, and I recently switched from white to 2000 color after seeing a recommendation for it in a Fat Quarter Shop video. It vanishes into the material. Additionally, unlike other people, I rarely get issues with it breaking. However, I frequently change my needle, so perhaps that is helpful. On the quilt photo I sent, I used this thread. On the dark fabric, it hardly stands out.
