Best Recessed Lighting Housings in 2022

When it comes to lighting your space, recessed lighting housings are a great option. Not only do they provide a sleek, modern look to any room, they are also energy efficient and easy to install. But when it comes to choosing the best recessed lighting housings for your home, there are a few things to consider.

First, you’ll want to think about the size of the space you’re trying to light. If you’re lighting a large area, you’ll want to make sure your recessed lighting housings are designed to handle that type of coverage. Smaller areas can get away with a smaller housing.

Next, consider the wattage you’ll need for the type of light you want. If you’re looking for a more subtle light, you can opt for a lower wattage light. If you want a brighter light, you’ll need to go with a higher wattage option.

Finally, think about the style of recessed lighting housing you want. There are a variety of styles to choose from, including contemporary, traditional, and even rustic. Choose one that fits with the aesthetic of your home.

When you’re ready to purchase your recessed lighting housings, make sure to do your research. Read customer reviews and compare prices to get the best deal. And be sure to consult a professional electrician to ensure that you’re making the right choice for your home.

With the right recessed lighting housings, you can enjoy a beautiful and energy efficient lighting setup in your home. So make sure you choose the best option to suit your needs.

At $10 each, these fixtures are amazing. The two parts connect together, and we utilized them under our waterproof deck with Sunco's LED inserts (2700K, also sold in a set of ten on Amazon for $75). They are simple to install and have tiny nails in each leg that function well even with I-joists. The metal, movable mounting slides can be mounted on any of the fixture's four sides and are simply compressed to a shorter length for mounting between joists spaced on 12 inch centers. They come with press-in electrical connectors that can accommodate different wire gauges and, providing you like the connectors, make wiring extremely quick, as with most new fixtures. Personally, I'm still unsure of their long-term sustainability, so I opted to cut them off and use tried-and-true wire nuts, covered in electrical tape, as I have done for many years without ever experiencing a single problem. But if you like them, you can simply mount and connect up all ten fixtures. These fittings will surely be used by me in the future!

This lighting is exactly what I needed. Based on the number of lights I needed and the size of my kitchen, I chose to use lower lumen lights after conducting extensive research and luminosity calculations. The lower brightness lights, according to the article, produce 940 lumens. That is untrue. The output of 850 lumens was plainly mentioned on the box of each one I received. But I increased my estimate because I reasoned that if it were a little too bright, a digital LED dimmer may help me tone it down. My kitchen is sufficiently bright even with 850 lumens per light. The accuracy of the information advertised must be guaranteed by Amazon and Lithonia. The circle template that is included with each light will also function properly. The fit is a little too shoddy for my taste, though. To achieve a tighter fit, I made the holes somewhat narrower. By no means a show-stopper. I daisy-chained six of these lights and used a Lutron Maestro CL dimmer and companion switch to dim them in three different ways. There is absolutely no buzzing with this setup. Last but not least, the knockout holes are slightly larger than average. I put some regular romex strain relief clamps, however they fit a little shoddily.

For a retrofit upgrade of the entire house, I bought 24 of these units. They arrived in a lovely packaging and were in good condition inside. The enclosure itself is glossy white, and the electrical box contains standard wiring (for LED pins). They are less hefty than Halo fixtures, but they cost a lot less and are IC certified and sealed. Additionally, the electrician fitted these housings to the ceiling with ease using a regular round saw attachment for his drill. Photos show finished dwelling without trim and finished plaster ceiling with trim. Most importantly, they are compatible with Costco's FEIT 4" retrofit LED trims. There were no connections problems because the pins were compatible. The final product is sleek and amazing since the trims fit the housings so tightly. not a chance.

We opted not to use conventional "can" lighting when constructing our basement. We decided on these 6" thin, 3,000k warm light emitting, dimmable dics. They produce a warm, pleasant light that is 100 Watt equivalent before being dimmed, and they look great when placed. Here are some lessons we discovered:1. Make sure the light location is clearly identified when your electrician runs the cable that will be hidden by drywall (or other ceiling material)! Installers of dry wall must maintain the placements of the lights with a visible nail or something similar. Additionally, make a note of the placements of the lights on a map of the ceiling. Measure the distance in inches between the two objects. If you didn't take adequate note of the 110 wire and light positions, you'll regret it. To find the 110 wire for two of our lights, we had to dig around. That was tedious and unpleasant.2. It is quite easy to use a 6" hole saw to create a flawless cut in the ceiling once the light locations have been accurately noted or located. Reach inside for the wire, connect it inside the junction box provided, attach the output wire to the light disc, and then place the disc into the 6" hole to complete the installation.3. Select a dimmer switch that is compatible with Lutron LEDs if you want to utilize one. That switch will function normally as it decreases from 100% to roughly 5%.4. TORCHSTAR offers both direct sales on Amazon and "other buying alternatives" on the site. Although there may be a small price difference, the lights are the same. I was able to get all the lights we required by shopping at both stores.5. My electrician who installed the lights was so pleased that he is now purchasing similar lights for some of his other clients. He enjoyed the appearance, ease of installation, and quality.

These fixtures are sturdy and nicely made compared to others I have placed. Because an inspector missed the thermal cutout that is usually included for Type IC luminaire installations, I have had installations fail. Regarding [Luminaires and Fittings] Light-emitting-diode Recessed Luminaires, the UL PRODUCT CATEGORY is reviewed. This category includes luminaires that must be installed in compliance with Article 410, NFPA 70, and the "National Electrical Code" in recessed cavities in walls, ceilings, and other locations. These fixtures meet the requirements to be classified as "Inherently-protected Luminaires" by UL, which states that "A recessed luminaire that does not exceed temperatures greater than 90°C on outside surfaces even when covered with insulation and mis-lamped or overlapped is identified by the marking "INHERENTLY PROTECTED." I would repurchase these.

Review:

The ceiling in my kitchen is fantastic! I'm quite pleased with how this thing seems. Four 1970s fluorescent T12 fixtures were removed and replaced with these recess LEDs by my father and me. My father, a former electrician, has never used these before but found it very simple. He was astounded with the development of "recess cans." I looked at a video on installing these online. We couldn't believe how easy it was. They were so well received by my father that he now wants to install them in his home. There is no buzzing after we put 2 sets of dimmer switches (2 above the sink area and 4 in the main ceiling recess). Make sure you purchase a dimmer switch of high caliber. Your ceiling doesn't have to be completely torn apart in order to hang massive "recess cans" for stunning, modern lighting! I was having nightmares about the things we would have to rip out of my ceiling to install recess lights. I'm so happy I discovered this stuff!
