All is well thus far. However, a word of caution (that was my mistake). My Samsung refrigerator model was the ideal fit for this component (RS265TDRS). On a Wednesday night, I placed an expedited delivery order for the component. Around 0900 on Friday, it arrived. I watched as many YouTube tutorials as I could find in order to replace the part, but I already knew how to do it. My refrigerator's temperature was 61 degrees, and the freezer was at -14 degrees. It's vital to remember that a few days prior, I heard some clicking in the unit. I cut the power as soon as possible in an effort to reset some sort of on-board computer system. The evaporator coil in the refrigerator section's lower panel needed to be defrosted first. My next course of action in troubleshooting was this. The fan that circulates the air was broken and there was a lot of ice buildup. I bypassed the door open switch to test the fan. It wasn't rotating. Please take note that I am a fan of D.C. It took roughly 15 minutes to replace the old fan after the replacement one came (11 hours earlier than anticipated). By bypassing the door open switch, I made sure the fan was running. I closed the door and checked again after 15 minutes to find the refrigerator's temperature had dropped to 55. It reached 45 in an hour. Six hours after I left for work, the reading was 38 and holding. For fun, I activated power freeze, and everything functions as expected. I estimate that by making only two trips—one to troubleshoot and one to replace the part—I was able to save at least 150 in labor. I also didn't have to wait for John the Repairman to arrive, diagnose, and maybe replace several parts before finding the solution. The part cost at least 56 dollars elsewhere, not including the 20 dollars for expedited shipping. I think I saved about $200. I will update the review as needed. As an added plus, there is no rotting and my refrigerator is spotless.

This fan is an original GE component. My refrigerator's installation was essentially a do-it-paradise. yourselfer's Cut the refrigerator's power. Remove the two bottom drawers or shelves. Remove the housings for the bottom shelf slides. Remove the back evaporator cover with caution. Move the outer silicone insulator to the new fan after removing the old one.These procedures are reversed during installation. Make sure the lower drawer temperature setting assembly, located on the left back side of the slide housing, is properly aligned.A 1/4" nut driver or socket and a short extension are required. Don't overtighten these screws, please.Some of these 2014–2015 freezers (serial number prefix AA) need a software update, however mine did not.
