The machine was slightly larger than expected, but not significantly so, given my little New York apartment. When not in use, it tucks away neatly and functions flawlessly on a coffee table. It has many stitch possibilities for our use and is much more sturdy than a "portable" or "small" machine, which is fantastic because my 13-year-old will be using it as well. There is a "how to" video, but I needed to start working on a project right away, so I just glanced the manual, which was similar enough to previous computers I've owned that it was simple to get going. I invested in a sewing kit with thread and a magnifying glass so I could thread the terrible needle with my nearly 50-year-old eyes. After I finished my initial job, I continued reading and learned that a "needle threader" is already attached and ready to use. LIFE CHANGER!!! I credit this handy little device that I apparently overlooked when I bought it with the fact that we have already finished three projects in less than a week. Not sure if this would work for a full-time quilter or sewer, but for us do-it-yourself crafters, it is AMAZING!!

I've been using the same machine for the past 23 years as a professional seamstress. I had to take my dependable Eddy into the shop last week for the first time ever, therefore I urgently needed a backup or replacement. It would be simple for me to spend excessively on a new machine, but right now the budget is extremely constrained because we recently purchased a new home. So I bought this one. It arrived on schedule, I took it out of the package, threaded some denim gold thread through it, and it quickly and easily passed through a pair of jeans. The tripled over flatbed seam (12 layers of stretch denim) caused it to hang up and hum little, but it otherwise performed everything else flawlessly. Additionally, the finished seam resembled a factory hem in every way. The stitch length was perfect, and unlike my regular machine, it didn't complain about the thick topstitch thread. Then I took a scrap of purple satin and fiddled with the settings, moving the stitch and stitch length up and down with the brilliant white thread to see how they all looked. She's a terrific little honey who is very quick. Wow. My daughters were arguing last night over the scrap portion because it was so entertaining.

The machine's mechanical design, as opposed to its use of computers, will make repairs and replacement parts far simpler in the event that they are ever required. When I sold sewing machines, I saw that the computerized models lacked the weight of their mechanical counterparts and were more prone to breakdowns. After experimenting with the device for a few days I bought one for myself because I was so thrilled with it. My steel Kenmore from around 1980 is sitting on my stand, but it will soon be moved to the attic. I will definitely push this machine to its limits because I adore it so much.

I bought this sewing machine to keep on hand for tiny emergency projects and clothes repairs, then to store away when not in use. Although my mother was when she was younger, I am by no means a sewer; I only have a basic understanding of the process. Yesterday, I gave it a try, and I was pleasantly surprised by how well the device worked. Unsurprisingly, it is constructed of plastic, but with a little tender loving care and storage protection, it should survive as long as I need it to. It is compact and equipped with a light to keep your tasks adequately illuminated. It offers more button holes and stitching options than I will ever require, including more than enough different stitches, to be truly helpful. The sewing mechanism moves smoothly and with a lot of strength, and the instructions are simple to understand. It performed admirably on my small assignments from yesterday. The presser foot lever's plastic construction means that even with cautious use, I can see it ultimately cracking, which is the only reason I didn't give it five stars. Some advice: if purchasing this machine, get steel bobbins and heavier duty needles. The machine comes with plastic bobbins, which, while not harmful, won't wind as precisely as steel will, and the needle is a little on the light side. I was glad I had gone to the store and purchased a strong strength needle because I was repairing a pair of heavy canvas pants for my spouse. Overall, I'm happy with the purchase and am confident that I will use it for a very long time.
