Fresno, California, where I live, can get very hot. I chose to buy a 20x20x20 shade triangle because I also have a pool but no trees. Without these, I highly doubt that object would be so well installed.I grabbed two sets and had to cover a huge area.With the longest turnbuckles I could find, I completed two sets, and it was completely worthwhile. A big triangle must first defy gravity before being pulled taut in order to be hung. I was able to tighten it down exactly with 2 8 inch turnbuckles on each of the three corners, and as the sun's million degree heat and gravity cause it to sag, I can tighten down the extra turnbuckles to maintain it solid.

With the exception of shade cloth and poles or other objects to attach it to, this shade sail hardware kit contains everything you need to build a shade cover. This package is complete, which I appreciate, but it feels a little light-duty. The carabineers are considerably weaker and smaller than I had anticipated (see picture next to a "regular-size" carabineer). In general, I endorse this collection. It was an excellent kit! We chose to use the Ollieroo kit after reading reviews of all the other brands. The turnbuckles were longer than those from other sellers and were good and robust. I'm very happy we decided on these. Only a few dollars more were spent, but it was money well spent. In less than 30 minutes, we had our shade sail up and running.The kit came with everything we needed, but we did utilize chain for extensions on two corners. The only thing I would ask for is the ability to add more turnbuckles or carabiners. It won't be a deal breaker because we're buying that from Lowe's, but it would be a good choice.

For the price, this hardware is of good quality. Only two carabiners, though? In order to finish my installation, I had to purchase 2 more from Home Depot. Additionally, I purchased some eye bolts to replace some of the corners' diamond plates. By cutting through the wood, this creates a far stronger bond than tugging on four screws. I positioned the two diamond plates horizontally so that the tension would draw the screws laterally.

A huge hickory tree is just next to our parking space. The nuts on the tree get very big, roughly the size of a ping pong ball, and heavy toward the end of the summer. A nut smashed our windshield the previous year. Since we did not want to cut the tree down, we purchased a Shade Sail and used it to fly over our parking lot. Now that the nuts are starting to fall, let's hope this does the trick. It appears to be strong and well-made. I would have given five stars, but the outcome hasn't been determined yet (when all the nuts come down.)

Just as described, excellent results. The only caveat is that the supplied screws pull out quite easily. I would suggest purchasing some proper screws that are designed to go into wood for your own sanity. I think we ultimately used some leftover materials from building our deck (galvanized since we were drilling into treated supports). Even with the ones that were provided, we were unable to fully insert them without them peeling out and needing to be removed with pliers. For us, it's not a big deal, but I can understand how it may annoy someone.

Alu appears to be the material.
