I recently gave sumac a try, and I have to say that, like Red Hots, I put that s#* on everything! Salad, fried green beans, pork belly, and scrambled eggs I adore this material. I can't stop thinking about it! Be aware that it will be slightly moist when you open it before you purchase it. It's the way things are. Still, it's very nice. Not at all offensive! It tastes completely unsweet, very much like a tangy lemon tamarind. On precooked rice, I've tried it. I can't get enough of the additional flavor dimension it adds. Yup! This sucker always sits on the table with salt, pepper, and the MANY Cholulas.

Sumac is an intriguing and flavorful Middle Eastern spice if you've never tried it. It is used to give dishes a flavor that is slightly tangy and also toasted. It goes well with dishes like grilled meat or salads that also contain a little olive oil and lemon. The flavor of this sumac is nice, however the container also contains little chunks of the hard exterior portions in addition to the powdered sumac. Although they are edible, having tiny, extremely hard, woody chunks combined with your finely crushed spice is not ideal. To get rid of those tough chunks, I imagine you might sift it through a mesh strainer.

Sumac was a key component of the Israeli spice blend Za'atar, which I wanted to make. Since I was unable to get it locally, I of course turned to Amazon, confident that one of their marketplaces would carry it. And sure enough, The Spice Lab had it; additionally, it was available in several sizes, allowing me to order a sample-sized bottle. I'm ecstatic with it and will unquestionably order more soon.

My childhood buddy used to point to "that tree" and tell me how her grandfather would use it to make "lemonade."One recipe from Bon Appétit mentioned sumac. I discovered that it has a citrus flavor, and because I adore lemon, I ordered it right away. It's undoubtedly fascinating. Can I also taste a little paprika-like lemon in it? I'm not sure because I now have a severe sinus infection, which affects my taste senses, but I can definitely taste the lemon that was used to make a sort of "lemonade" in the past.I'm eager to give it a try and am hoping that I will be daring enough to not let it sit in the cabinet.Fast (Prime/holiday weekend) shipping and two factory seals on the bottle

Review:

I enjoy this Sumac a lot. Many people criticize it for being less "sour" and more "bland" than other types of sumac. To some extent, this is true. I've consumed sumac my entire life (since I could literally chew food). I've eaten sumacs that ranged in hue from dark brown to bright scarlet and had a wide range of flavors and textures. In a more coarse ground, this sumac is softer, kinder, and milder than some others. It doesn't overpower the flavor of your main course. It gives off a light tart flavor. I know a lot of individuals who favor the more "strong" tangy, sour sumac because it gives food and drinks a crisper cut-through. Not with this. In contrast to other sumac's powerful sour flavor, this kind has a little sweeter, softer flavor. I favor this. Sumac shouldn't take center stage in my recipe; instead, it should be a subdued accent to the flavor.

Because my previous two orders NONE of which came with the shaker top inside, making it VERY DIFFICULT to sprinkle small amounts, I have revised my review and taken away a star.*FINAL UPDATECrohn's disease is not made worse by this. I adore it and substitute it for pepper. (Many claim that it has a lemon flavor, but I don't taste it.) I'll make another buy, but I'll hunt for a cheaper supplier the next time. Additionally, the shaker top on my canister is missing this time.
