I adore this. It appeared somewhat rough and grainy in photographs, but it is quite smooth. I like it, however if you prefer more textured grips, look for something else. Thought the plastic would snap, but the side panels snap in, making it sound crackly when you remove it. It is perfect and fits perfectly. Side panels may be switched out someday and returned to original panels for a better grip. I particularly appreciate the small screwdriver and the set of screws; even though I used the originals, having extras on hand is wonderful. By the way, there was no sticker on the interior, behind the battery, in the instructional video. I had a sticker covering it, but you only need to slice a tiny hole where the screw is before it gives way and you can get the middle screw without having to remove the entire adhesive. To access the screw, simply make a hole and cut a small amount of the material.

Although the design is strong and durable, it can still be scraped or scratched, so exercise some caution. Simply pry off the side rails and remove the sticker from the battery compartment to complete the installation. The faceplate comes off easily by removing the five screws at the back.As a result of these faceplates' exceptional smoothness and potential for slipping, I advise using the extremerate textured side rails.

It is soft and fits PERFECTLY. This is incredibly cozy! It is NOT at all loose and fits exactly and squarely over the controller's top charging port! If this skin was designed exclusively for the FIRST GEN Xbox One, then I don't understand why other people claimed that it did not fit over the charging port. The One S or X, please! The grips are good all over. The rubber grips on my elite controller started to deteriorate, so I installed them on it. I put on the Kontrolfreeks before removing the rubber grips. They give the controller a little "beefier" feeling, which I enjoy. Additionally, I've noticed that I'm not gripping the controller tightly when playing, which means that even after a lengthy session, my hands don't hurt (I'm old...). Although they are undoubtedly well-made and comfy, these were not created expressly for an Elite Controller. They WILL put one to use. To make the grips compatible with the paddles used by the elite, you will need to make a few quick and simple adjustments (see pics). The grips are somewhat too thick for the paddle to fully descend and function as intended. But it can be fixed with ease. Basically, you connect the paddle, use a pen to draw a circle around it, remove the paddle, and then use an exacto knife to cut off the necessary pieces. So far, so good. I like these grips over the OEM grips. And at $15, it's a winner.
